Northwest Regional Championship Martial Arts Tournament

United Studios of Self Defense will be holding it’s Northwest Regional Championship Martial Arts Tournament on Sunday, August 29th. Please have your tournament application turned in to your Sensei no later than Saturday, August 14th. We look forward to seeing you there.

West Linn, Sherwood and Beaverton dojos – It’s time to represent! The USSD Seattle Tournament will be held at the Meydenbauer Center in beautiful Bellevue, Washington.The new location is over 18,000 sqare feet which is much bigger then last years spot. On top of the tournament, Master Clegg & Master Clark will be holding a seminar from 11:15 – 1:15. Please see your instructor for more information.

Martial Arts Demo Team to Perform at West Linn Fair and Sherwood Robinhood Festival

Free Self Defense Classes for Kids in West Linn

Thanks to Sgt. Neil Hennley of the West Linn Police Department and all kids who came out on Saturday for our Summer Safety Class.

This class was geared for our elementary school students and was focused on stranger danger, bike safety and other helpful tips.

Take Care of West Linn Day is this Saturday at Mary S. Young Park in West Linn. Please join Mr. Jenkins @ 10am to help clean the park and pull some ivy.

Site Address: 20000 Hwy 43, West Linn

Parking/Meeting Location: Park in the paved lot near the picnic shelter – Volunteers will gather at the picnic shelter.

Project Description: Groups and individuals are invited to continue the efforts to this amazing forested park of invasive ivy and garlic mustard.

Happy New Year to all of our students! We are excited for the New Year and all that it will bring. We would like to thank everybody that participated in our holiday potluck and parade. We look forward to spending 2010 with YOU!

Masters Class

Join Master Richard Black 7th Degree Black Belt and Vice President of United Studios of Self Defense for this 2 hour training seminar. Master Black will focus on the finer points of the Kempo system. This class is open to all rank levels ages 12 and up.

USSD Offes a Fun, Exciting class for ages 3-5

Looking for a way to introduce your child to the martial arts and teach them life skills, motor skill development, socialization, and confidence? Our Tiny Tiger program is just the ticket. Held once a week at our West Linn and Sherwood locations, each fast-paced class will focus on movement, activities and FUN! Held in a safe environment, and supervised by trained instructors, the program features top of the line equipment and classes that are tailored to fit individual student needs.

July is a very busy month for us at United Studios. We have 2 fairs, a Ninja Night, the Dojo Picnic and an Open House. If you are interested in assisiting us at any of these events, we would be more than happy to have you there. Contact us for details for details.

West Linn Old Time Fair / Robinhood Festival
We have not one, but two events occuring the weekend of July 17,18 & 19th. United Studios of Self Defense will have a booth at the Sherwood Robinhood Festival and the West Linn Old Time Fair. Make sure to show your support for your dojo by wearing your United Studios T-Shirt! Please see your Sensei if you would like to help assist us in our booth. Students from West Linn will be participating in a martial arts demonstration on stage at the West Linn event. We look forward to seeing all of you there

Annual Dojo Picnic
Join us at Willamette Park in West Linn for our annual dojo picnic. Our event will start at 11am on July 25th. We will provide the hamburgers and hotdogs for everybody. We have a sign up sheet in the lobby for other side dishes, drinks and desserts. Last year, we had roughly 160 students, family members and friends show up to enjoy the day. We look forward to seeing everybody there.
