Women’s Self Defense Class

Thank you to everybody that took part in our Women’s Self Defense class on February 16th.  The West Linn dojo was filled with over 40 women learning valuable self defense moves.  Just a few of the benefits of this class were – Empowerment, Self Confidence, Awareness and Self Defense.  Our next self defense class will be at our Sherwood location, date to be announced shortly.

Front Choke Defense with Master Paul Taylor

Being choked from the front can be a very intimidating type of attack. A person that grabs you this way usually has the intent to kill you. The proper execution of the proper technique is crucial. This technique combines a powerful strike, a lock and a takedown to devastate your opponent.

The attacker is standing in a neutral stance with both hands on the defender’s throat. When you practice this technique, be careful not to choke too hard. Just place your hands on the throat with no pressure. When doing the wrist-lock takedown, be careful no to go too fast or too hard so as to break the wrist.
